Steven James Durand

Obituary

Our loving and compassionate Steven James Durand entered eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 22, 2017. He was born on June 22, 1993 to Scott and Tina (Pacholski) Durand.

Steven graduated from St. John the Baptist Elementary in 2008. There he spent his time between baseball, basketball, karate, cub scouts, playing the organ, and his schoolmates who were like family to him. His most cherished memories were with his father, who was his leader of Cub Scout Pack 136. Steven had many adventures and accomplishments in scouting. In 2012, he graduated from Central Catholic High School. As a teen he played the drums, track and field, woodworking, and enjoyed volunteering for the Central Catholic staff who embraced him with love.

He was employed at Chrysler Jeep on the assembly production line, but had dreams of becoming a counselor to share his gift of love and compassion to those in need. Steven enjoyed vacationing, landscaping, model cars, Lions football games, working out, technology, camping, and valued friendships. He was an inspiration. Steven's spirit will live within us.

Left to cherish Steven's memory is his mother, Tina Durand; brother, David (Ryanne Stamper) Durand; grandfather, Thomas Pacholski; uncles Jeff (Sharon) Pacholski and Jonathan Durand; best friend, Gary Dunbar; friend, Jim Zawacki; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Durand; grandmother, Nancy Pacholski; grandmother and grandfather, Eileen and Thomas Durand.

Visitation will be Friday, January 27, 2017  from 2pm until 8pm at the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611.
