Obituary

 

Sandra Mae "Sandy" Scott, 67, of Fostoria, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.

She was born May 21, 1949 in Fostoria to the late Lewis and LaDonna (Rader) Arnold. She married Gregory A. "Greg" Scott on January 17, 1970 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church and he survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are children, Janell Scott of Findlay, Jodi (Mike Bishop) Scott of Tiffin and  Aaron (Erica) Scott of Bascom; grandsons, Caiden Scott and Levi Stahl; soon to be granddaughter, Addley Mae – soon to be born July 11;  brother, Chris (Jane) Arnold of Tiffin; sisters, LuAnn (Mark) Tooley, Tiffin and Lori (Mark) Grine of Tiffin; brother-in-law, Mike (Leda) Scott of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law Judith (Scott) Chaney.

Sandy had worked at the Tiffin Paper Co. for 3 years, City Loan & Savings for 3 years, spent 13 years at home raising the family, Arnold Vending Co. for 10 years, Independence House for 3 years, and the ICP, Tiffin where she worked for 13 years. Sandra also worked on the Election Board and helped with Bible School after retirement, was a Salvation Army bell ringer and a volunteer at Independence House.  She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and St. Patrick Church, Bascom.

Sandy enjoyed reading, walking, baking, crafts, and spending time with family. She adored her grandsons and loved attending all of their sporting events. Sandy also enjoyed vacations with her husband Greg, whom she was married to for 47 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who always put others before herself.  

Visitation will take place on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. and Monday May 8, 2017 from 9-10 a.m at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday May 8, 2017 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. A luncheon and gathering will take place in the Parish Hall following the funeral mass.

Burial and committal services will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Creek Cemetery, Tiffin.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
