Obituary

 

Ruth L. “Ruthie” Snyder, 91, of Fostoria, passed away at 4:33 am January 27, 2017 in Good Shepherd Home, where she resided.

She was born September 5, 1925 in Fostoria to La Grange and Clara (Clouser) Pankhurst. She married Ralph Snyder and he preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son, Michael (Jane) Snyder, Jackson, California; daughter, Cheryl L. Jacobs, Sidney; grandchildren, Randy Ferguson, Christy Garrison, Erin Snyder and Kegan Snyder; and a great-grandson, Ethan Ferguson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Pankhurst.

Ruthie had worked at the former Copeland, Fostoria, Amvets, Tiffin and the Elmwood at The Shawhan, Tiffin. She had been a member of the Fostoria Moose Lodge and the Tiffin Amvets and Eagles Clubs. She enjoyed talking to people, travelling, and playing bingo.

Visitation is Monday January 30, 2017 from 5-7 pm and Tuesday from 10 – 11 am at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.

A celebration of life funeral service will take place at 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Copeland, presiding. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Activity Fund of Good Shepherd Home.

We are so very sorry for your loss. We have so many fond memories of Ruthie throughout her Amvets career. She was a great friend and will be dearly missed. We are so sorry we are unable to attend her celebration of life but please know we will be there in spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
