Robert H. Hauser
Robert Henry Hauser, 81, of Fostoria, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born on July 27, 1935 in Sandusky to the late Carlton and Jean (Engler) Hauser. In 1953 he married Marilyn Miller in Angola, Indiana, and she survives him in Fostoria.
He also leaves behind, and cherishing his memory, four daughters, Cindy (Larry) Williamson, of Memphis, TN, Teri (Alan) Kaminsky, of Fostoria, Linda (Doug) Michelsen, of Fostoria, and Tracy (Bob) Wenzinger, of Medina; eight grandchildren, Jerad (Becky) Williamson, Gabe (Jill) Williamson, Jason Kaminsky, Erin (Bryan) Brendle, Alex (Maddie) Kaminsky, Brittani Michelsen, Jacob Wenzinger and Jenna Wenzinger; nine great-grandchildren, Eric, Brianna & Brooklyn Williamson, Ryan & Luke Williamson, Addison, Kelsey & Kolton Brendle; one brother, Donald (LaVon) Hauser, of California, and one sister-in-law, Jacquie Hauser, of Huron.
He was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Brock & Drew Williamson, and Lindsi Rathburn, and a brother Jim Hauser.
Bob was a 1953 Fostoria High School graduate, where he was an outstanding basketball player, and to this day, enjoyed watching the sport. He was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football, an avid golfer and enjoyed a good game of poker. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and a member of the Silver Sneakers, in Tiffin.
Bob was a Fireman for the City of Fostoria, Past Fire Inspector and EMT, and then ultimately became Assistant Fire Chief, retiring in 1987. He was very proud of his family, and with him, you always knew where you stood.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home 11 am on Friday, Pastor William Bentley, presiding. Bob will be laid to rest privately in Fountain Cemetery.
