Michael Lee Yantiss

Michael Lee Yantiss, 68, passed away at Henry County Hospital on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Born on March 16, 1949, he was the son of Richard and Hazel (Vermillion) Yantiss. Mike married Shirley Murrey on November 4, 1967 and she survives. He was a machine operator at Tenneco, retiring in 2007 after 36 years of service. Mike was a creative person who loved tinkering with things. He enjoyed playing pool and visiting with friends and strangers alike. He could often be found with his morning coffee group at the truck stop. Most of all, Mike was a good husband and father, and will be sorely missed by his close knit family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Yantiss; children, Janene (Morgan) Hoskins, Ita (John) Banks, Michael Yantiss, and Jeff (Jessica) Yantiss; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nola, Logan, Kaitlyn, Desiree, Megan, Michael, Gabe, and Devin; great-grandchildren, Blake, Jaden, Drake, and Troy; and brother, Rick Yantiss. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Michael. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Walker-Hoening Mortuary in Napoleon from 10 am to 12 pm. Funeral Services will follow at Noon at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Wes Hoffmire of Crossroads Church.
