Michael E. Parks


Michael E. Parks, 60, of Fostoria, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born on July 20, 1957 in Woodruff, SC, to Reuben and Lorene (Poole) Parks, Sr.  He married Cheryl L. Settles, and she survives him in Fostoria.

He is also survived by his mother, Lorene, of Fostoria; children, Michael “Brooks” Craddolph, Stoney Dendinger, Tyrone ( Brianna) Settles, Lita Settles, Chaz Settles, Craig Settles, and Danelle Settles, all of Fostoria; two brothers, Reuben (LaWanda) Parks, Jr., of Toledo, and Carroll (Nicole) Parks of Laurel, Maryland; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Sr., and a brother, Kenneth R. Poole.

Michael attended Higher Ground Ministries, and had been employed by Freudenberg-NOK, in Findlay. 

He was a compassionate, loving & caring, humble man who would do anything for anyone. He simply enjoyed being around people.  A family man, he found joy in spending time with his children & grandchildren. Michael loved and adored his mother and his loving wife , Cheryl.

Visitation will be held at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline Street, Fostoria, from 11 am until the time of services in the funeral home, beginning at 12 noon, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, Apostles Derrick and Tonee Morant, presiding.  Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Memorial contributions may be considered to the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Dialysis Center. Online expressions of sympathy may be made by visiting www.hoeningfuneralhome.

Kevin and I were in a state of shock when we heard about Michael. Michael was an all around good guy and loved life. He is with God and smiling down on you. He will be the brightest star in the sky at night. We will keep you in our prayers.

Cheryl I know we spoke on phone and not being able to wrap your head around the freak accident. You know God is all over this Cheryl he's got You.Never question why because he is giving you another chance,you can talk to him when and where you want to and let him know how you feel but really he already knows.Cuz I am just a call away anytime.Its gonna take awhile for that numbness to fade,but trust me God is gonna give you what He knows You can handle.Hang in there sweetie and take care of yourself.I Love ya.,So sorry and Praying for ya.
