Leonard "Pa" Michalski
Leonard "Pa" Michalski, 96, of Point Place, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on October 30, 1920 to Walter and Mary (Zechel) Michalski.
Leonard proudly served during WWII in the United States Coast Guard. After the service, he worked for 45 years at Chrysler-Jeep as an inspector. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and U.A.W. Local 12. Leonard loved fishing, gardening, camping, traveling, woodworking, and jigsaw puzzles.
Leonard is survived by his children, Sandy (Al) Brady, Karen (Dennis) Kerekes, and Terry (Kim) Michalski; grandchildren, Shelly (Lon) Stender, Rick (Gail) Kerchevall, Amy (Mark Harbaugh) Measles, Rhonna Kerchevall, Chris (Amy) Kerchevall, Jason (Tracy) Kerchevall, Joshua Kneller, Jacob (Nikki) Michalski, Stephani (Eric) Schieffler, and Carly Michalski; 17 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen "BooBoo"; and great-grandson, Derek Stender.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2 until 7 pm at the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611 with a scripture service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will also be held from 9 until 10 am on Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5153 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611 will Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 am. Father David Cirata will be officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
