Obituary

Joseph "Joe" David Poff, 59, of Point Place, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was born on August 7, 1957 to Edward and Nadine (Auxier) Poff in Fayetteville, West Virginia.

He proudly served as a combat engineer in the United States Army. His grandkids were #1 to him. Joe enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, and his Dachshunds. He would help anyone and everyone without asking for anything in return.

Joe is survived by his wife, Rosa; children, Jennifer (Brad) Eischen, Tony (Angilla) Hoot, Brenda (Chad Grobe) Hoot, and Luke (Sharon) Jackson; grandchildren, Bradley, Brooke, Tony Jr., Karson, and Dayton; brother, Allen (Sandy) Poff; and countless other family members. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017  from 11am until 1pm at the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on the same day at 1pm. Pastor Tim Rabara will officiate. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery where military honors will be presented.

Joe was well known around here and we will miss him a lot. He was in the middle of getting our garden in this spring, and was worried about finishing it. Rest easy , Joe, it's growing great, thanks to you! Prayers for Joe's family from all of us.
