Joseph E. Geno

Obituary

Joseph E. Geno, 94, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at  the University of Toledo Medical Center.  He was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 23, 1922 to William and Eliza (Radcliff) Geno.

 

Joe was employed as an airman for Detroit Toledo Shore Line Rail Road before retiring after 37 years. He received an honorable discharge from the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1944. He and his wife had traveled to all 48 contiguous States. He loved camping, professional wrestling, and Tigers baseball.

 

Joe is survived by his wife of 73 years, Rosemary Geno; children, Joseph (Linda) Geno, Richard Geno, Kathy Krus, Ken Geno, and Steve (Diane Gillespie) Geno;  several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017  from 2 until 8 pm at the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. Funeral services will begin at 11am on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5153 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. Father David Cirata will be officiating. Interment will be private.

 

Memorial contributions may be considered to the charity of the donor's choice.
