James J. Karcsak
James J. Karcsak, 80, of Point Place, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on June 13, 1937 to Francis and Mary (Bona) Karcsak.
Jim was employed by Kaiser Aluminum as a forklift driver for 23 years before retiring. He enjoyed RC boats and rockets, building model cars and planes, and toy trains. He was passionate of building anything, repairing car and motorcycles, and remodeling homes.
Jim is survived by his brother, William (Patricia) Karcsak; sons, Keith and Timothy Karcsak; step-daughters, Kim (Ray) Sykes, Cathy Smotherman, and Sandra (Jamin) Wood; step-sons, Jeffrey, Rick, and Wallace (JoAnn) Smotherman; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and best friend, Mike Harsh. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth, brother and sister-in-law, Francis (Carol) Karcsak, Jr.; and daughter, Jody Karcsak
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2 until 8 pm at the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. Funeral services will begin on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11 am in the funeral home with Pastor Ben DeLong officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
