Harold L. Logsdon
Harold L. Logsdon, 93, of Fostoria, passed away at 10:17am Saturday April 1, 2017 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
He was born June 7, 1923 in Carey to the late Wilfrid L. and Emma C. (Reinhart) Logsdon. He married Mary Lou Lucius on June 28, 1947 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving is a son, Edward L. (Kimberly) Logsdon, Denver, CO; daughter, Kathy E. (Michael) Hall, Temperance, MI; granddaughter, Lyndsay Hall; step-grandson, David Smith; brothers, Charles Patrick (Rita) Logsdon, Upper Sandusky and Fr. Wilfred Logsdon O.F.M., Angola, IN. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Powell; twin brother, Herman; and brothers, Edmund, James, Larry, Joseph and Eugene Logsdon.
Harold was a 1941 graduate of Salem Centralized School in Wyandot County. He retired in 1988 from Mosser Construction, Fremont as a bridge builder, having built between 700-800 bridges in his 40 year career. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 3rd degree Knight of Columbus of Council # 1197, 4th degree Knight of Columbus of Assembly # 845, Fostoria and New Reigel American Legion Post # 354.
Harold was a US Marine veteran serving during WWII as an electrician on Corsair airplanes and B-25 Bombers. He will be fondly remembered for his very dry sense of humor, honesty and unshakable integrity.
Visitation is Tuesday April 4, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria where a 4th degree honor guard will stand from 6-7 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Dominique presiding. A Rosary will be prayed 10 am at the Church. Burial will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery with military honors provided by the New Riegel American Legion.
Memorials are suggested to Community Hospice Care, Tiffin or the Franciscan Mission Association, Carey.
