Dale B. Heilman
Dale B. Heilman, 83, of Fostoria, passed away Monday afternoon, August 28, 2017 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1934 in Old Fort to the late Carlton L. and Thelma M. (Holsinger) Heilman. He married Katherine Rothert in August of 1973 and she died July 16, 1987. He then married Theresa M. (Kiebel) Reiter November 30, 1996 and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are six children, Becki Heilman, Wyoming, Kathleen (David) Huff, Sandusky, Janet Chapman, Tiffin, Barbara (Charles) Houser, Norwalk, David (Tineka) Heilman, Kansas and Bryan Heilman, Bloomdale; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six step-children, Mark R. (Joyce) Reiter, Carey, NC, Sarah (Steve) Toukan, Westerville, T. Jeffrey (Colleen) Reiter, Dearborn Heights, MI, Nicholas A. Reiter, Fostoria, Elizabeth M. (George) Shiekh, Lakewood and Jacob M. (Sue) Reiter, Ballston Spa, NY; 13 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; brother, Donnie (Pat) Heilman, Tiffin; and brother-in-law, Virgil Fortney, Tiffin.
He was also preceded in death a daughter, Robyn Hodgkinson; brothers, Carl and Wayne Heilman; and a sister, Mildred Fortney.
Dale was a 1952 graduate of Old Fort High School. He grew up on a farm and had been a longtime member of the Old Fort United Methodist Church and an Old Fort Volunteer Fireman and former member of the Tiffin Moose. He retired from the Basic, Inc., Bettsville in 1996 after 44 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He is a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
Visitation is Friday September 1, 2017 from 4-8 at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria with Rev. Todd Dominique celebrant. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin Church and School or the Old Fort Volunteer Fire Department.
