Carlton "Carl" B. Ham


Carlton "Carl" B. Ham, age 76, passed away on Sunday October 1, 2017 at Genacross Lutheran Services Napoleon Campus. Carl was born on July 1, 1941 in Fulton County, the son of Clair and Mildred (Briggs) Ham. He graduated from Chesterfield-Dover High School in 1959. Carl married Marilyn Brown in September 1989 and she survives. Carl was a laborer for American Gauge, also known as American Power Pull, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a devoted husband, an easygoing fellow who enjoyed shooting trap, and playing his guitar and banjo. He loved bluegrass music and in his younger years played music with the "Sand Sifters". Carl was a member of the Maumee Valley Sportsman's Club, Morenci Michigan Eagles, and the Defiance Moose Lodge.
Carl is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marilyn Brown-Ham. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be private. Memorial donations are suggested to the St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery Fund, Napoleon, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Walker-Hoening Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio.

Sorry for your loss Marilyn. "Hambone" was a good friend of my husband, John Rettle Jr. They worked together at Am. Gage. He was a good man and I and at least the older two girls will remember and enjoyed his company .

Marilyn; What a shock to hear of Carl's passing. Seems like we just talked at the club on a Tue. night.We will miss him at the shoots, and always remember seeing you guys at the shoots-infest and other polka fest. If anything I can do for you, please ask.
